The roots of Ayurveda Kala Mandiram trace back to a unique luminary in the world of holistic healing—Pandita Shatavadhani Ayurvedacharya Swargiya V.T.V. Ramanuja Swamy Garu (born June 3, 1901). An erudite scholar, prolific journalist, and master of Sanskrit and Telugu literature, Pandit Ramanujaswamy dedicated his life to the revival and upliftment of Ayurveda.

A Vast Journey of Knowledge

• Literary Mastery: He achieved deep proficiency in traditional languages and literature under celebrated scholars like Vedam Venkataraya Sastry. His brilliance was publicly recognized through his flawless performances of Ashtavadhana and Shatavadhana across prominent cultural hubs like Gadwal, Vijayanagaram, Pithapuram, and Madras.
• Ayurvedic Scholarship: Driven by an insatiable quest for medical knowledge, he mastered Ayurveda under the legendary Kashinathuni Nageshwara Sastry at Tenali, and later spent four years in the Darbhanga Samsthanam studying under the revered Vaman Trivikram Bhattacharya.
• Institutional Pioneer: Upon settling in Hyderabad, he became a pillar of the region's medical landscape. He founded the Deccan Ayurveda Mandal, worked as an influential lecturer and physician at the Nizam Ayurvedic College and Sadar Davakhana, and presided over the prestigious 20th Ayurveda Parishad Vidyapeetha.

In 1941, Pandit Ramanujaswamy officially established Ayurveda Kala Mandiram in Hyderabad to create a centralized sanctuary for authentic, deep-rooted healing. Driven by a deeply rooted spirit of philanthropy, he also established free Ayurvedic dispensaries in rural regions like Guruguntla and Choddapuram to bring healing to the masses.
